INTERESTS:
Macromycetes, biodiversity, taxonomy and mycotoxicology.
PRESENTATION:
The society was founded in 1998 by mycologists inspired by the ideas and spirit of Dr. Pius Font i Quer. Currently the organisation has more than one hundred members, including the son and daughter of Dr. Pius Font i Quer.
The association's aims (as stated in our by-laws) are to carry out mycological research and transmit knowledge of the field, to prevent poisoning incidents resulting from the ingestion of mushrooms, and to work to ensure conservation and appropriate care of habitat and fungal diversity.
Our activities include the holding of lectures, organising and collaborating with exhibitions and mycology meetings, and research projects focusing primarily on fungal biodiversity.
Our society works with DEPANA (the League for the Defence of Natural Heritage, declared an organisation of public utility), whose activities focus on conservation of natural habitats.

Annual A. M. Font i Quer Mycology Symposium, 7th edition
Annual Berga Cortinarius Symposium, 12th edition

HERBARIUM:
The association’s herbarium includes approximately three thousand specimens, most of them belonging to the Ascomycetes and Basidiomycetes.
JOURNAL:
We publish an annual journal entitled Butlletí de la Associaciò Micològica Font i Quer. The publication covers mycotoxicology and fungal biodiversity in Catalonia and the Pyrenees.
RESOURCES:
The association's library offers users over one hundred publications and specialised mycology journals.
An independent database is managed by the herbarium and contains information concerning localization of species as established by members of our organisation, as well as references to publications on fungal species in Catalonia.
The association also offers optical equipment (microscopes) for use by its members, and has a number of information panels on mycology for use in exhibitions.
A large collection of slides and digital photographs is also available.
